One of the ideas we had from the beginning of branding Lord Abbett was that each investment instrument should be associated with a unique color—reflected in these examples. In the end, we had to have these colors custom-mixed to match our initial laser-prints, because the clients preferred the colors on the laser-prints to the PMS colors we specified for the proofs!

"The Craft" was Lord Abbett's statement of business philosophy, and appropriately, the first major exposure of our design direction for their branding project. The spiral-bound flip-book looked like a calendar and dispensed weekly doses of corporate wisdom. The set of CDs were recordings of lectures by Lord Abbett Partners. One over-arching idea was the use of antique, classic ornaments and typefaces in a more contemporary design context—old-fashioned values in the modern world.

This was an important transitional design project. Without the stylistic expansions in this brochure, I would never have been able to take the Review as far as I did. So, it represents a bridge between the first work I did for them, and the contemporary direction—and I think it stands pretty well on its own.

This was a set of cards for Lord Abbett registered financial advisors—lavishly branded reminders to help keep them on-brand.

At the end of a few years, we designed a Christmas card for Lord Abbett's use. You'd be surprised how complex the chain of approval was for this particular project! They look simple, and they are, but we made dozens of iterations.
